Richard A. Shinee, a graduate of Southwestern Law School, has practiced labor law representing public safety members, including peace officers, firefighters and paramedics, as well labor unions since 1974.  He began representing deputy sheriffs as an associate with the firm of Tweedy & Associates, the first law firm to represent deputy sheriffs belonging to the Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs.  Thereafter, from 1977 through 1980, Mr. Shinee continued to represent public safety members throughout the State of California with a larger law firm. 

In 1980, Mr. Shinee was one of the founders of the law firm Green & Shinee where his practice has been devoted to the representation of public sector employees, with an emphasis on public safety officers, including police officers, firefighters, deputy sheriffs and district attorney investigators.  He has represented over 300 police officers and deputy sheriffs in officer-involved shootings.
