The law firm of Green & Shinee was founded in 1980 and since its inception has primarily represented public sector employees, with an emphasis on public safety officers, including police officers, firefighters, deputy sheriffs and district attorney investigators. Its attorneys have 114 years of collective experience representing police officers, deputy sheriffs and district attorney investigators, as well as other public sector employees. The firm has represented more than 15,000 public sector employees in administrative investigations, contract arbitrations, discipline appeals, and civil rights lawsuits. In 2010, the Firm celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Green & Shinee has the highest win/loss ratio of any law firm representing public sector employees in the County of Los Angeles. The Firm has represented the Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs and its approximately 8,000 members, as well as the Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers and its members, in Federal and State court, before the Los Angeles County Employee Relations Commission and the Los Angeles County Civil Service Commission. The Firm has also represented the Pasadena Police Officers Association and its members, the Glendale Police Officers Association and its members, and other public safety unions in Southern California before civil service commissions as well as in Federal and State court.
In the last 30 years, the Firm has sought and obtained injunctive relief barring the Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney’s Office from enforcing unilateral changes in wages, hours and working conditions. In addition, the Firm has represented its clients’ members in FLSA litigation as well as bringing civil rights actions against the County of Los Angeles for the violation of ALADS’ members’ constitutional rights.
